Truth Matters Ministries (TMM) exists to make a case for the validity of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Christian worldview through young people who want to influence their culture. TMM is focused on the following areas: Theology, Culture, Worldview, Science, and Apologetics. There are many great sources of wisdom, knowledge, and truth out there on the web, but we’re aiming to be unique in distilling those things through the voice of high school and college students.
We live in a world that no longer expects much from high school and college students, but we believe that they’re capable of so much more than the standards of this world. The Apostle Paul says as much to his protege in 1 Timothy 4:6-16:
“If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.
Command and teach these things. Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
Biblically, the bar for young people is high: they are to be examples for others in their youth. And we think that’s where Truth Matters Ministries shines the brightest. By helping young people research and think Biblically about the issues of our day, they can live out the reality of this high calling.
Husband to Tracy, and father of 3 amazing kids: Caden, Isabella, and Ian. I love making fun of my kids and having my kids make fun of me. Graduated UCLA intending to finish with a Computer Science degree and within 2 quarters, switched to a History major cause I couldn’t handle the nerdery. Ironically, I am currently a huge nerd and wish I could program. I love British TV shows, all things Apple, and will pray for anyone using Android. I’m a youth pastor at Church Everyday and a video editor at Toonzone Studios. I’ve been in love with Jesus since as long as I can remember but made a commitment to take up my cross and follow him during my sophomore year of high school. In the fog of puberty, it’s the one clear decision I made and one of the few that I don’t regret from that era of my life.
Graduated from California State University Northridge with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management, Business Management for short. Currently studying to go to law school (it’s been a rough season but God is good !!!) I love cheesy jokes and puns. I love to dance, sing, cook, and craft. Ask me about The Office and I’ll tell you everything line by line. People often call me Behahncé. (pronounced like Beyoncé) If you ever lose me, you can find me on the nearest dance floor or at an ice cream shop. I’ve been a Christian all my life but wasn’t committed to Jesus Christ until sophomore year of college. It’s been an eye-opening and challenging, yet wonderful journey since!
Genetically 100% Korean; culturally 50% Korean, 30% Redneck, 15% Mexican, 5% Bear (The variety comes from dad. Mom is 100% Korean). Currently a student at UC Berkeley; and studying Political Economy, planning to work in a company that pays me enough to pay rent and buy food. I love to create things, so I love to write, make music, cook, bake, and build things. I’ve always attended church, but some personal issues drove me to find healing in something that I knew was bigger than this life, which was God. Since then, even in the worst periods of my life, I’ve known God loves me. If God can love someone as terrible as me, I’m pretty sure He can love anybody, and I’m pretty sure that He wants to as well.
Currently, a full-time student at California Lutheran University and pursing a degree in accounting. Hey, Jesus sat with the tax collectors, too! Aside from studying, I enjoy going through Pinterest, crafting, and restocking my ever-growing craft supply closet. My mom has stopped me from going to Joann’s on multiple occasions because I spent too much of my money and time there. Fangirl of Korean boy bands and overly cliché Korean dramas. Gave my life to Christ in middle school, but I didn’t grow an interest in theology and apologetics until high school. Influenced and encouraged by Christ-centered, female theologians and apologists (Shout out to Nancy Pearcy). Hope to encourage and do some of the same things as these amazing women.
Currently a student at the University of California, San Diego. Pursuing a degree in chemical engineering because I hate myself. Just kidding, passionate about science and the advancements being made today. A simple guy who loves simple things: sleep, food, playing music. Basic. Lover of random knowledge. Did you know that farm grown salmon actually isn’t pink? And puns. Can’t get enough of those dad jokes. Nerd with a derpy personality. But there’s one thing I love more than random facts and puns: Jesus. Grew up in church but met Jesus in middle school and the rest is history. Some of my best friends and fondest memories come from my identity as a Christian. To lose Christ would be to lose everything I am, but praise be to God that He’s with me every step of the way.
To introduce myself, I am an outgoing introvert with a passion for food, people, and cities. I will graduate from Gordon College, May 2018, with a major in Business Administration, Concentration in Marketing, and minors in Communication Arts/ Innovation and Social Enterprise. My studies are driven by my love for data, communication, and strategy. This is what people initially discover about me, but I know that the core of who I am is someone who loves the Lord and lives to glorify Him every day. I am a relationship builder, I am an entrepreneur, and I am a student, but above all else, I am a child of God.
